Installation

Force installation on old HW: 

setup.exe /product server

Bypass internet connection

  • Press SHIFT+F10 to start command prompt
  • type command: OOBE\BYPASSNRO
  • installer shows again select the region and keyboard settings
  • On Let's connect you to a network choose I don't have internet
  • Continue with limited setup

Samba

guest access

  • Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation > Enable insecure guest logons
  • via Registry Editor by adding the:
    • KeyHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\LanmanWorkstation
    • with DWORD property AllowInsecureGuestAuth and the value 1
  • via powershell: 
    md -force HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\LanmanWorkstation | %{New-ItemProperty -Force $_.PsPath AllowInsecureGuestAuth -Value 1}
